The New Model of Peer Respite
Mind Springs Health follows a new, emerging model of respite that is client centric.
Molly Fiore, Peer Services Coordinator shares with us her personal experience with mental illness and how the new model of respite would have helped her in her time of need.
Janice Curits, Peer Services Manager for Mind Springs Health helps us to understand the strength of the Peer Respite model.
This new model of peer respite has a shown great potential in reducing emergency room and crisis center visits, while allowing clients to stay in their community or home and work through the pre-crisis window. It is also cost-effective and works well to address the staffing issues often seen in traditional over-night respite models.
