Mind Springs Health Announces New Management Agreement and Interim CEO with Larkin Health

Grand Junction – November 18, 2024 – The Mind Springs Board of Directors is pleased to announce a significant new chapter in our organization’s history. We are excited to share that we have signed a management agreement with Larkin Health System, a renowned healthcare organization that has served the health needs of South Miami, Florida, and the surrounding region for over 40 years. This partnership signals a bright future for Mind Springs Health.
As part of this new direction, we are excited to introduce our new interim Chief Executive Officer Nicholas D. Torres, DNP, APRN, NP-C. Dr. Torres brings a wealth of healthcare experience and a dynamic vision for our future. His impressive track record and dedication to innovation and excellence make him an ideal fit for our organization as we embark on this new path together. We are confident that under Dr. Torres’ leadership, we will forge stronger community ties, enhance patient care access, and cultivate a healthy organizational culture.
Dr. Torres currently serves as the CEO at Larkin Community Hospital’s South Miami Campus and is an adjunct clinical faculty member at the University of Miami, School of Nursing and Health Studies. His previous roles include Director of Patient Care Services at Jackson Health System and Director of Behavioral Health at Larkin Community Hospital. Dr. Torres holds a Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice from the University of Miami and a Master of Science degree from Chamberlain University as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Torres replaces John Sheehan, FACHE who has graciously stepped down to pave the way for the new leadership team. This transition marks an exciting new chapter for the organization.
