From our CEO: The Doors at West Springs Hospital Are Staying Open

Grand Junction, Colo. (May 29, 2024)
Mind Springs, Inc. has come to an agreement on a new contract for the upcoming fiscal year (FY2025) with Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP) and an agreement on a settlement with RMHP for our arbitration case for FY2021-FY2023. This new agreement with RMHP removes the immediacy of West Springs Hospital possibly closing.
We appreciate all of the advocacy and support from our community partners and our leaders, which have ensured that this valuable asset will remain open and available to serve the Western Slope community and its mental health needs. A special thank you goes out to our partners at the state level including our state representatives, like Representative Rick Taggart.
With that said, now begins the hard work to ensure long-term sustainability. We continue to work with our community partners to secure anchor funding to ensure the long-term sustainability of West Springs Hospital.
Again, enough cannot be said of how the community has rallied together over the past month, and during Mental Health Awareness Month. We are grateful as an organization for the support of the Western Slope community.
