Work Experience: In the APRN role Marcie has performed clinical work in a variety of settings including work in the Emergency Department, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, and Outpatient Clinic settings. She has worked performing various services including diagnostic assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, triage, medication management, case management/coordination and psychoeducation. Prior to working as an APRN, Marcie worked in medical and mental health services for many years. As an RN, she worked for 6 years in multiple high acuity hospital systems, including Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit, MI), Doctors Hospital of Michigan (Pontiac, MI), St.Vincent’s Behavioral Health Services (Westport, CT), and Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital (New Haven, CT).
Education/Trainings/Honors: Doctorate of Science in Nursing (DNP) from Fairfield University, HRSA grant recipient, Recipient of Academic Achievement Award from Fairfield University (for maintaining 4.0 GPA), Recipient of 2008 Michigan Nursing Scholarship
Professional Affiliations: American Psychiatric Nurses Association, EMDR International Association and Sigma Theta Tau International.
Practice Style/Areas of Clinical Interest: Marcie’s practice style is relational and goal-oriented, with emphasis on individualization of evidence-based practices, safety restoration, symptom reduction, functional improvement, and active involvement of patients and their supports in services. Her areas of clinical interest include trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, personality disorders, and treatment-resistant disorders.
Hobbies/Personal Interests: In her free time, Marcie enjoys hiking, kayaking, skiing, reading, discovering music, and creating visual art.
