Jason L. Andersen, DO & Douglas J. Pattison, CPA Join Mind Springs Health & West Springs Hospital Leadership Team

July 18, 2019Featured Articles

Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital, the largest provider of mental health and addiction treatment on the western slope, are proud to announce doctor of osteopathy and board-certified psychiatrist & addiction specialist Jason L. Andersen as Chief Medical Officer, and certified public accountant Douglas J. Pattison as Chief Financial Officer.  Andersen and Pattison succeed Jules Rosen, MD and John Rattle respectively, both of whom retired last month.

Jason Andersen, DOA graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Andersen completed his General Psychiatry residency at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, where he also completed a Child/Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.  Most recently Partner and Medical Director of Silver Creek Psychiatry in Orem, Utah, he served as a supply & logistics officer in the U.S. Navy, and was also assigned to an anti-terrorist/security team.

“I share the team approach that works here at Mind Springs Health & West Springs Hospital’ says Dr. Andersen, “and look forward to collaborating, teaching, learning and having some fun while doing so.  I take the important things we deal with every day very seriously, and also understand the importance of humor and fun in working together.”

Based out of Mesa County, Dr. Andersen plans on being a regular presence in all offices throughout Mind Springs Health’s 10-county service area.  When not on the job, he enjoys remodeling, wood-working, baking, gardening and writing, and is also an amateur cheese maker.

Doug Pattison, CPADoug Pattison has been a dedicated volunteer and philanthropist throughout his life, and first became associated with Mind Springs Health in 2018 as a member of their Board of Directors.  Prior to moving to the Roaring Fork Valley, Pattison held many leadership positions within Harpo, Inc., the multimedia conglomerate founded by Oprah Winfrey, including Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President and Consultant to the Office of the Presidents.  A graduate of the University of Maryland – University College, he began his professional career in 1979 at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and earned his Certified Public Accountant degree in 1986.

“I was very excited to join the Board of Mind Springs Health approximately one year ago” says Pattison. ”I now am further engaged by moving from the boardroom to an operating role.  I am energized by the opportunity of being affiliated with an organization providing world-class behavioral health services for those in need of this care.”

“We are incredibly fortunate to welcome both Jason and Doug to our organization.  Their level of expertise is hard to come by, and they have had an immediate and valuable impact on both Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital as we celebrate the new hospital’s 6-month anniversary and start our new fiscal year” comments President and Chief Executive Officer Sharon Raggio. “With their leadership, we expect a great year-to-come for us, our clients & patients.”
