Mind Springs Health Recovery Festival

Mind Springs Health Recovery Festival
September 28, 2017Mental Health General

Each year, Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital have the honor of hosting a Recovery Festival to celebrate the progress made by those in recovery from mental illness and/or addiction.

Many people shared their stories of recovery or joined in song during a ceremony followed by a balloon release. The ceremony also had an art room, a room to build comfort boxes to use in stressful moments, rock painting and face painting.

In the art room, artist and veteran Vincent shared with us his use of art and laughter as a way to heal from the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that he has.

Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital’s President and CEO Sharon Raggio attended the event and applauded the strength and courage of those battling mental illness and/or addiction. Anna Hesse, a Peer Specialist at Mind Springs Health shared her recovery story, reminding us all that treatment does work and recovery is possible.

At Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital, we are humbled by the strength and vitality of our communities across the Western Slope of Colorado. Our vision of health and wellness in our communities remains a commanding component each day we work to provide treatment.

If you or a loved one would like to begin treatment for mental illness and/or addiction, please contact your local Mind Springs Health office. If you are in crisis, please use our crisis line.
