President, Mind Springs Foundation
As President of the Mind Springs Foundation, Roger Sheffield is the architect of the Building Sanctuary | Rebuilding Lives campaign – a $40 million comprehensive campaign to fund the new West Springs Hospital, the new Women’s Recovery Center, numerous innovative behavioral health programs and services. Additionally, he is responsible for creating and implementing a vibrant annual fundraising program which will provide long-term annual philanthropic support of all the operations of Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital. Roger’s career spans over 30 years and encompasses four comprehensive campaigns totaling over $250 million.
Previously, Roger has served as the CEO of the Colorado Mountain College Foundation, vice president and chief advancement officer for IES Abroad and Doane University, and principal fundraising roles at Lawrence University, The Colorado College and Hastings College. While at Citi Smith Barney, he provided, and continues to provide, philanthropic advisement services and family legacy advice to high net worth philanthropists. Roger was a founding member of a four person team that established the Southern Colorado Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has been a member of AFP for 30 years.
Roger holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Nebraska. He previously held a gubernatorial appointment to the Nebraska State Colleges Board of Trustees and served as an advisor to the Nebraska Governor, US Senator and third district US House member on educational issues.
Roger is chair of the Colorado Animal Rescue, CARE, board of directors and serves on YouthEntity and Dance Initiative boards of directors.
